My Students

I work in an urban school of approximately 2200 students. My school is incredibly diverse serving students of many backgrounds, including a growing population of English Language Learners and a high percentage of students receiving free and reduced lunch. The majority of my students are sophomores and juniors in high school taking either Modern US History or Western Civilization. Many of my students will be the first in their families to attend college and are involved in classes and activities that support their goals.

My students are engaged and motivated with big dreams that we work hard to make a reality.

My Project

Every student deserves a learning environment that allows them to thrive and grow; they need a space that fits them and creates an opportunity for them to collaborate and grow as individuals, both intellectually and socially.

Every student deserves to have a desk that is not broken and fits their bodies.

Adult size bodies do not fit in child-sized desks which, unfortunately, many of my students have to make do with, and even then those desks are older and wobbly.

I am hoping to obtain classroom furniture that fits my students physical and educational needs by purchasing classroom tables and chairs. This will allow not only flexible grouping opportunities for learning but ensure that every student in my classroom has a learning space that fits them.
