Every picture tells a story and capturing the memories of our youth and preserving them for a lifetime is one of the ultimate joys for a high school student.
The students of the Yearbook Class, sophomores through seniors, are without a doubt, creative, passionate and motivating individuals.
Over the past three years, the class has grown to serve 35 students, with a waiting list. That number is one that is rare for a yearbook class. The students of the school, just like other schools, have the same interests and desires, just not the same amount of technology available for their use. Each student would benefit from his/her own computer, but they have learned to be patient with what is available; however, their dreams and desires are the same as those who have an abundance of technology available for their use. The lack of technology has not hindered their ability and desire to create a dynamic yearbook, one in which all memories can be preserved for years to come.
My Project
The students will use the laptop in order to design and market their yearbook. The class is two-trimesters with daily lessons and activities specifically designed to teach art, photography, design and marketing to the students. With a new laptop, the teacher can show examples of design ideas and also facilitate collaborative lessons through it.
There would be no greater feeling that to showcase a new laptop to the students of the class.
The laptop will improve the production and design time of the yearbook, giving them technology to help, in school with their desire to produce a yearbook. This will help so that students may utilize in-class work time instead of doing work, on the computer,at the public library or at home.
