Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is full of students with roots around the globe. They work hard daily to learn reading and math curriculum, and the majority of my students are also learning to speak English. The materials I have requested for this project will help them to make a connection to the changing world of technology around them.
My class is full of excited first graders.
My students come from an economically depressed urban community and various cultural backgrounds. I have students from 5 different countries, and 90% of my class is learning English as a second language. These students work hard and overcome much in their lives and learning.
My Project
All of my students receive individualized interventions to meet their specific needs. These interventions are most effective when students attend school daily and are healthy! Research suggests that students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. I am requesting hand soap, disinfecting wipe, and Kleenex to fight off germs and keeps my students healthy and in school.
As a Title I school, we're faced with a limited budget for even the most essential items that help keep students healthy and at school.
This project will help my students stay healthy and focused on their goals by preventing illnesses through the use of hand soap, disinfecting wipes and tissues. My classroom will become a productive place for student learning by providing classroom supplies through the purchase of markers, erasers, and glue sticks. Your donation will help of these supplies will help maintain a healthy classroom environment for my students, which keeps them learning year-round.
