Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a class of children who are eager to learn and we need more resources in order to help this happen.
The classroom environment is just as crucial to success as the curriculum the children are being taught.
Children need a nurturing, safe, warm and loving environment in order to thrive both emotionally and academically. Please help my children thrive.
The children in my class live in a section of Holyoke where they come from low-income homes and basic needs are not always met. Please consider helping them have their academic, social and emotional needs met in their classroom so that they can be set up for successful futures.
My Project
These materials will make a huge difference in the children's learning. Their reading levels cover a wide range and our current classroom library does not.
We need books that are as diverse as the children's reading levels in order to practice the necessary skills to progress with reading skills.
In order to differentiate instruction, I will need resources to meet each of the different levels the children are presenting.
My school uses Guided Instruction in order to meet the specific needs of the children. During Guided Instruction, the children are split up into homogenous groups and work on specific skills. This is crucial time for the children to hone in on their skills as well as prime time for me to provide small group instruction.
