The children in my classroom have unique abilities. My students are in a preschool for all learners classroom, where children with different disabilities learn together in the same environment.
My students come from a very low income neighborhood and materials are limited.
Many families do not have the funds to provide or donate materials to the classroom.
I have high expectations for my students, and despite their disabilities, I believe that they can do anything that they want to do. I want my students to know that I care, and that I support them by giving them the learning materials they deserve to have in the classroom.
The children will be able to communicate their wants and needs, as well as participate in large group times through an alternative communication device.
Currently, some of my children are unable to fully participate in group times due to not having verbal communication.
The requested device would greatly improve my children's participation, and give them a sense of inclusion and belonging within the classroom.
All of my children deserve to make choices, make their wants and needs known, and participate fully in the curriculum that I offer. With this communication device, my children without a voice will finally have the ability to communicate.
