Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is made up of 15 sweet preschoolers. They are the youngest members of the school, with a drive to learn and explore everything! The children in our school reside in the inner city and are from many different countries and backgrounds. Most of my students come from low-income families. Pre-K is usually their first school experience, and for some, the first time they will be using English on a daily basis. Preschoolers learn a lot about their world through play and exploration. It's such a rewarding feeling to witness how they begin to build friendships and to see their eyes light up as they learn and accomplish new tasks every day.
My Project
My students love to paint and draw. They are so excited to finally be able to attend school with their friends after an entire year of online learning. Unfortunately, our water colors, paint, crayons, and markers are either broken or dried out, and they cannot use them. The requested art supplies will have a strong impact in helping my tiny artists develop and strengthen their fine motor skills and expressing their creativity in class.
My students have very little at home, so coming to school, I want them to have everything they need to be successful students.
We are asking for basic school art supplies.
Most of my students don’t mind sharing supplies, but the pandemic has made individualized supplies a necessity. Please consider a donation to our classroom project.
