Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in an urban area. We have a variety of students at our school. Most have a language other than English spoken at home. We are also a Title 1 School. Many students get free or reduced-price lunches. However, their enthusiasm to learn is always clear. They want to learn! They ask many questions and have a great deal of energy.
My students love learning new things and sharing their ideas with their classmates.
They work together on a common goal. They love collaborating.
My Project
These basic needs are needed in our classroom. The 4 in 1 pens will be used when editing their writing during the writing process. I have them use different colors for proofreading and revising so that I can see if they really understand the difference.
We also need more art supplies to explore their artistic creativity.
Our school has become an arts, communication and technology magnet center. The sketch and construction paper will help them find the artist within them.
Finally, the clipboards will help my students during center time. It will give them something to write on and a way to keep their folder and papers together.
