My Students

Developmental kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paintbrush. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune.

Currently my students are at home with their families due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Many of them do not have books to read with their families. I am hoping to help my students have access to books that there families can keep and be able to read with them during this crisis. All kids should have access to books.

My Project

At this moment, students are unable to go into a school building. They can't see their friends or sit down with their teacher and listen to a captivating story that challenges them to think and grow. Right now many students are at home with limited resources. As an educator I hope to provide learning for them while they are home and give them access to necessary materials.

When I think about equity, every child should have the chance to pick out a favorite book in their home, and sit and enjoy reading it.

Every child should have the opportunity to build their literacy skills while they flip through the pages of a book with a family member. Please help my students have access to books while they spend this time at home.
