Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of working at a Title 1 school, where 70% of the students qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch program. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and ability levels. My students are hard working with goals and dreams of a bright future.
My classroom focuses on teaching students to work hard and reach their fullest potential.
Critical thinking, empathy, and leadership are emphasized throughout each and everyday. This year my class of 22 with include 4 English Language Learners and 3 who receive resource services. The remaining students vary in academic ability.
My Project
With your help, my students will get the individualized assistance they need to be successful. No two students are identical or have the same needs. The Ipads will be a more effective way for the students to stay engaged during independent practice, filling more gaps in their learning through meaningful practice. It is vital to each child's future to be able to read at grade level and be proficient in math. The iPads will assist them in reaching this goal.
The ability to differentiate instruction through a flipped classroom model, lessons created at a students level, and online resources are essential to the success of all students.
All of the students will have access to the iPads to use in various ways. Such as:
Audio books
Access to differentiated online math and reading resources
Research for writing
Research Science topics of interest to encourage the natural curiosity of children
Educational games
Even Batman needs to stay up to date with technology in order to fight crime. My students will need these iPad to ensure they are knowledgeable of current technology regardless of their families socioeconomic status.
