ETA hand2mind Class Set of Fraction Tiles

My Students

I teach 3rd grade at a low income/high poverty school. I already know some of my students face different challenges in and outside of school. I want my students to know that this school is always a safe and positive learning environment. Creating a positive classroom environment requires students to trust teachers and feel cared about.

My students are always willing to challenge themselves.

I am working on instilling growth mindsets rather than fixed mindsets in my students by telling them it's okay to make mistakes because we learn from them and that, no matter how hard something may be, we just need to say, "We can do hard things." I do not want them to give up on something that may be challenging. My students are my joy, and I am so glad that each of them is in my class. All I want is the best for my students.

My Project

We are starting our fraction unit soon, and it would be so helpful for my students to be able to be hands-on with the fraction tile manipulatives. I do not have a class set of fraction tiles, and it has been tough to teach fractions without these tiles.

The ETA hand2mind fraction tiles will be a game changer when teaching my fraction unit.

I want my students to understand what fractions are by using this amazing math tool. This class set will help by creating visuals for my students. Visuals are a must when teaching fractions. We need fraction manipulatives in our classroom so that I can effectively teach fractions.
