Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title I school. We provide free breakfast and lunch to our students. I have 24 students on my class list. My students are a combination of English only and English Language Learner students. I have the privilege of teaching Expanded Transitional Kindergarten.
Many students come from low-income families.
Many come unprepared for school due to the lack of funds at home. They are sometimes unable to complete their homework because they don't have the supplies at home to do it. As a teacher, I try to provide as much as I can in order for them to succeed.
I love my students! They are our future. Why not give them the best. Teachers have an important role in their lives.
My Project
Not all of my students have the essential supplies to continue learning during this time. With your donation, the lack of supplies wouldn't be an issue. I'll be able to assign activities that encourage learning in fun ways and not worry that the activity won't be able to be done.
Examples of what your donations will be going towards are math journals, writing journals and drawing to name a few.
Providing these supplies eliminates the financial stress that many families are encountering. With the completion of the proposed donation, all of my students and their parents will have all that is necessary to continue learning.
