I teach in a rural community elementary school in northeast Florida. I have an amazing group of students. They all bring different strengths to our classroom. We treat our class as a family. The goal of my classroom is to meet every student where they are and help them grow both academically and socially.
Our county has a 21.4% poverty level.
Our school currently has about 1,200 students. Being a rural community, we only have one elementary school that serves the entire county.
My Project
Essentials are needed at school every day of the school year. Accidents happen or needs arise for various reasons. I would love for this project to reach each grade level who is in need at our school. Our school serves PreK through 4th grade. Many kids visit the nurse or guidance throughout the day. Their families are unable to supply necessity items for their students.
I would love for this project to lift a burden off of these students.
I hope the items requested can give them peace knowing that underwear, socks, long pants, or jackets are available if they are needed.
