Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 7th and 8th graders at a dual-language school in Boston. My students have in both English and Spanish since kindergarten. They are very thoughtful and constantly diving into learning while taking on leadership in the classroom.

They love to explore new ideas, cultures, and concepts each and every day.

I am lucky to explore with them through my humanities course. They are a wonderful group of students that see their individual success wrapped up in the success of others in the class. They work together and are extremely compassionate.

My Project

Students in our school need access to emergency supplies they don't have access to otherwise, to help prevent added stress or discomfort in their day. I am fundraising for all students at our K-8 school to have access to the basics. I am hoping all students can have access to new socks, a new water bottle, underwear, deodorant, snacks, and winter scarves.

These supplies will ensure that all students can continue their day in comfort.

These items will also provide a sense of safety for students knowing that crucial items they may need are readily available without judgment or the whole world knowing. It makes a world of difference having a sense of safety and comfort come what may during a students school day. We are all incredibly grateful for your support of our students!
