My students come from a small district in Louisiana called Tangipahoa Parish. I have several students who were greatly affected by Hurricane Ida in August. Many students came to me with little to no school supplies, and our school and surrounding community lost a great deal during the storm.
I do my best to provide my students with everything they need to get through an ordinary school day weather it be crayons, play-doh, exciting toys and materials for learning, and even breakfast!
They are the best part of my job, and I do what I can to make sure that they feel safe, loved, and have chances to succeed.
My classroom has many needs with only a small amount of resources to pull from. Therefore, any help from you is more than appreciated! Thank you for visiting our DonorsChoose page and please consider donating to my Pre-K classroom!
My Project
The resources on this project will be used for in-class and home activities such as making class books, creating math and literacy games, and preserving student work and artwork.
Students in Pre-K need color and durability in their everyday materials, so having a color printer to create reusable activities is a necessity.
We use sheet protectors to create easily erasable student activities, such as name tracing and writing and other fine motor activities using dry-erase markers. Tape is often used during arts and crafts, as well as when displaying student work in the hallway. Our district provides each student with a rental Chromebook for the schoolyear, but our classroom doesn't have many safe places to charge these Chromebooks out of students' reach, so power strips help us to charge these computers in one spot without having wires accessible to students.
