Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first year Science teacher tackling the first ever 7th/8th grade science classes being held at our Title I charter school.
With everything being so new, my science classroom and budget is very limited.
The kids are so excited to have a separate science class and very early on have shown great excitement to explore and discover through the wonderful world of Science.
My students are sweet, loving and they strive to do well in school and would greatly benefit from the basic tools needed to carry out scientific investigations at the middle school level, that are currently not within the school budget.
I hope to instill in my students the same love for science, discovery and learning that is so easily attainable with the right tools!
My Project

The microscopes and scales will be used by over 130 students throughout the year and used frequently to carry out experiments and investigations that are an integral part of a good science classroom!
The microscopes will give the students a chance to actually see and explore the building blocks of life science. The microscopes will be used to see everything from human cheek cells, plants cell walls, and pollen and allow students to get familiar with these tools that are so integral to feeling like a real scientist.
