Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a dual-language community school that serves ECE through sixth-grade students. We provide a rigorous bilingual academic program that prepares all of our students for global citizenship in the 21st-century. In the school, 97% of our student population participates in the free or reduced-price lunch program. The student body is 91% Latino/Hispanic, 4% Black, 3% White, and 2% Asian.
My students love to learn and have the desire to learn at the beginning of their day.
My students struggle with reading, but they strive to grow as readers each and every day.
My Project
Teaching isn't easier. It is even more difficult when you don't have the correct supplies. I want all my students to notice the world around them and make a conscious effort in their learning. Life is full of wonderful and amazing things.
I want my students to use their talents to tap into what is around them as well as inside them.
I envision using the markers to highlight the the various patterns in math and writing. We will use the markers so that we write with purpose. We will be conscious of all numbers and letters that we write. We will be conscious of each stroke that we write, but when we do make mistakes will use correction tape. We will use sticky notes to create colorful anchor charts to remind them of their learning. We will use the pens and markers to make and display these charts. And last but not least, we will use the Clorox wipes to keep our room clean! Please help bring supplies to my classroom.
