My Students

I teach in a unique school whose mission is to bring a Montessori education to students in an urban environment. We are a diverse classroom, which brings together students from the inner-city with students from the surrounding suburban towns. Our classroom is made up of 25 students in grades 4-6.

Our goal as a classroom is to treat each other as a family, and we use the Montessori philosophy as our backbone to do so.

We are a classroom that works together to create an inviting and comfortable space where all students can learn.

My Project

I am looking to purchase basic school supplies needed to help my students get off to a strong start this year. Due to the financial needs of our students, we do not send home a school supply list with students. As a result, teachers often pay for school supplies out of their own pockets. This year, I am reaching out to to the Donor's Choose community to help support me in this endeavor.

Having access to school supplies is an essential part of an education.

I am looking to purchase pencils and erasers for writing work and notebooks to use for their reading and writing assignments. I am also looking for sturdy folders to keep track of their "Work in Progress" within the classroom and snap folders so they can bring homework back and forth to school with them in an organized manner. In addition to these standard school supplies, and I am also looking for a class set of white boards and clipboards to assist students when working together on projects and in group lessons. Any support that you can give my classroom will be greatly appreciated by both my students and myself.
