Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many times I have these great science lesson plans but find that they are limited in effectiveness because of poor student engagement. Many times the poor engagement stems from not having appropriate, fundamental resources that all school students should have access to on a regular basis.
The students I work with are wonderful.
They amaze me with their resilience and energy. This is especially amazing since they have to deal with the real,urban-life problems.
Our high school public school students come from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds. Most of my students are English Language Learners. We are tolerant and even appreciate our differences.
My Project
I believe education should be equitable and fair. All students no matter where they live or who they are should have the opportunity to learn. The search for knowledge and truths will make our students better citizens.
In my science class, we are in pursuit of this knowledge and truths. I need your help to obtain basic school materials. Our students deserve these most basic of school materials to enhance their learning.
The students will use the markers, color pencils, easel paper, color paper, pencils, and dry erase markers every day in class. They will use it to finish lab reports, do experiments, make presentation posters, keep track of their work, and tons of other class lesson activities.
I tell my students that education is the key to their future.
However, knowing that others care about them goes a long way to motivate them to care about themselves. Science is an essential subject and requires materials to enhance the learning process. At our school, we have a group of dedicated teachers striving to improve the future lives of our students. We just need your help to provide them the appropriate resources.
