In our school, teachers and staff have high expectations. We make sure that the students are trying their hardest, however when they come to school unkempt or cold it makes learning challenging. My students are hardworking pre-kindergarten through fourth grade students who are dedicated to learning and being the best that they can be.
They have encountered many obstacles in their short lives and are learning that even with these obstacles they can still achieve and succeed in life.
Our goal as educators is to not only educate their minds, but also meet their other needs.
My Project
My project is designed so that we can meet the basic and essential needs of our students. Our students must wear uniforms to school every day. Many families either struggle to purchase school uniforms or replace them once their child has outgrown them.
Many of our students throughout the day need a new uniform due to an accident, or their uniform smelling and distracting them.
By having a plethora of shorts, shirts, and socks readily available in our closet we will be able to put the focus back on learning for our students and not on their uniform. We also have many students who require the use of diapers and wipes, having those available helps our parents out tremendously when their funds are limited. By donating to this project you are not only giving to our students' essential needs, but also helping them focus on their academics.
