Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is full of enthusiastic, bilingual students, eager to learn every day. There are 28 English learners that are amazing and love to be challenged each day. They come daily to class with smiles and dedication. They love to explore new learning with the integration of social studies and science through reading.
Our school is a Title I school, with 92.9% of students coming from low income families.
The neighborhood is high in poverty. There is a high population of Latinos in our school.
My Project
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood. They come to school without any supplies that are extremely important for their learning. In order for my students to be successful in the classroom, they need materials such as notebooks, folders, glue, and highlighters.
My students need pencils to be able to write in the classroom and dry erase markers with erasers, so they are able to use whiteboards during their centers in math and reading.
These supplies are so important for learning to take place in the classroom. With these materials they will be able to learn in all subject areas.
