My Students

What's a high school library without reliable Internet access? Our high school community needs a fast, reliable connection to take advantage of their own devices as well as the new iPads and eReaders that the library has just received.

Our students are bright, ambitious, and eager to learn, but they face many hurdles.

Nearly 60% are economically disadvantaged, one in five are English language learners, and 12% have an identified learning disability. Many of our students represent the first generation of their family to attend high school in the United States. They depend on well-equipped library computers as many do not have computers at home.

My Project

We are fortunate to receive new electronic devices that can help make learning more authentic, engaging, and creative. Members of our student teacher book group will read the current book selection on the NOOK eReaders. Teachers will bring their classes to to read multimedia iBooks on the iPads. The interactive and multimedia facets of iBooks will increase student comprehension and motivation.

Please help us replace our old router which needs constant rebooting with a new, fast, and reliable router.

Our library is the learning hub of our school, and it must have a solid Internet connection to for students to explore, learn, collaborate, create, and share.
