My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with more than 90% of the students at my school qualifying for free and reduced lunch.

My students are in the federal setting 3 autism classroom at my school.

Their grade levels range from kindergarten to 2nd grade. My students benefit from small group, individualized instruction in the federal setting 3 classroom. I love being an autism teacher. Students with disabilities have taught me that each student learns differently, and it is the educator's job to make sure we are teaching the way their students learn best.

My Project

Pretend play is an important skills for ALL students' social emotional development. It is especially true for students with Autism and/or other developmental disabilities. They need to have access to engage in pretend play with their peers.

I am hoping to get some role play costumes and dramatic play toys set for my students so they can engage and learn play and social skills.

They will also provide my students opportunities to communicate, use language and practice life, community reading, writing, and math skills through a variety of activities that go with each pretend play theme. Let's bring the toys and play back to our early elementary special education classroom.
