My students need computers that are easily accessible in our classroom. All of my students are learning English as a Second Language and having technology in our classroom is a must to succeed.

My Students
Our ESL Program is comprised of 82 amazing students, all of which come from Spanish, Chuukese, or bilingual households and almost all receive free or reduced price breakfast and/or lunch.
As a low-income school district, many of my students are faced with daily challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to make school a little easier by providing the technology needed to survive in the ESL classroom.
As a district we share a majority of our technology resources and being a K-12 district, this leaves minimal time allotted to our classroom for these supplies.
My Project
Our school is a Title I school that is located in Central Missouri and is rich in diversity. We have a 40% ESL population and 73% of our students come from families that are struggling financially. Despite daily challenges and hardships at home, our students are vibrant and resilient and our teachers are dedicated to making our school and students the best that they can be.
100% of the students in our classroom come to our school speaking Spanish or Chuukese as their native language.
Having Chromebooks that are easily accessible will help my students learn English faster with the variety of websites available today. Students will be able to work independently, improving not only their language skills...but will also work on technology skills that many struggle with due to a lack of resources in their native countries.
