As a teacher in a high poverty school district, I work with students that are faced with challenges in and outside the classroom. Despite the challenges my students face, they persevere. My students are high energy, communicative, and enthusiastic learners. They have a lot of energy and are always looking for a fun way to learn. They love to get involved with the lesson in whatever way possible.
My students love to show off their work and teach their peers.
They are excited to teach each other, both in groups and in front of the class. My students are visual learners. They love to use different resources in the room to show learning strategies to their friends. The students are a great group of mathematicians, scientists, writers, and artists.
My Project
This year when you walk into my classroom nothing looks the same. Students are sitting six feet from one another, everyone is wearing a mask and my students spend most of the day just sitting at their desk. Recently, I introduced escape rooms to my students. Despite having to stay three feet apart from their peers, my students found new ways to work together as a team and stay safe while working on the escape room.
A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to buy escape rooms for all subjects and bring some fun into our classroom.
Escape rooms allow my students to review the standards we have been working on in a fun way. As well as let them work together without the need for sharing material or getting closer than three feet.
