My students face a series of challenges. Many come from difficult backgrounds, have learning problems, or have focus issues. My students live in a mainly rural area, and approximately 60-65% receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My classroom is a safe and loving environment for my students.
They need to be able to feel like they can make mistakes and still be okay.

My Project
I have requested tool boxes and several locks to be used in my classroom. The locks are resettable to be used multiple times with different challenges. The boxes are to help set the stage for the fun and excitement of the work.
Escape Rooms are engaging and thought provoking within the classroom.
I love to watch my students get excited to do something other than plain old worksheets. It makes me smile. I love to hear them discuss what they are learning in order to figure out the clues. They use critical thinking skills and have to think outside the box and they don’t get a chance to do this often.
