My Students

The students at my high school are bright and extremely motivated. They are involved in many activities within and beyond the classroom. Our high school is a cornerstone of our community and the students within our building strive to be a shining example. They are some of the most inclusive, welcoming, kind-hearted and engaging young people you will ever meet.

I truly believe the students at my school make a conscious effort to be better every single day.

We all, faculty, staff and students included, take great pride in the community built in our building and speak constantly about the fact that our building "has a soul". This is because of the vibrant and enthusiastic students we are fortunate enough to teach each and every day!

My Project

BREAKOUT EDU is an immersive "escape the room" style classroom experience for students. Students are able to create physical "escape the room" games, digital "escape the room" games and play games created by the teacher and their peers utilizing their knowledge and skills of the content area learned in class.

Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication are required to solve or create these exciting puzzles!

Students are encouraged to work together, problem-solve and communicate while trying to escape the room. Applying knowledge in a real-world context, beyond pencil and paper, aids students in exploring the full range of Bloom's taxonomy as related to the material. They are interacting and utilizing the skills from class to solve problems, teaching one another and building memories and a classroom community along the way.
