Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second graders are a curious bunch of fun-loving, animal caring, up for anything group of kids. Everything is an adventure and the sky is the limit. My students are special because our community has been ravaged by hurricanes and we are stronger, closer, and more resilient because of it.
They are a diverse group of learners from different
socioeconomic backgrounds. Most of my students are bilingual and love to show their pride. We live in a small rural town.
My Project
Escape the boredom will create escape boxes for my students to have engaging ways to review content material. The materials I have included in this project are needed to create escape boxes in which students must answer questions and the answers include a secret code. Students will work cooperatively in small groups to answer the content area questions. Each group will start with a question in which the answer contains a code. That code will unlock a box. Each box will contain another question and puzzle pieces. They will work together to unlock boxes and collect all the pieces of the puzzle.
