This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are amazing and always willing to learn. Many of them started this school year reading well below a fifth grade reading level. However, they don't let that stop them from learning. They want to learn and their enthusiasm drives me to find or create the most interactive and interesting lessons.
Escape rooms are a great way for students to learn in an engaging and collaborative way.
With resources from Teachers Pay Teachers, I can provide my students with hands on, interactive lessons that promote collaboration and learning. There are a number of escape rooms for every subject and many of them are aligned with the Common Core Standards. Some of the escape rooms have materials that need to be laminated to keep them nice. Additional supplies like dry erase markers and heavy duty tape may be needed to put the escape rooms together.
Along with these resources, I want to provide my students with some new reading material for the take home library. Many of them don’t have adequate reading material at home and would greatly benefit from reading every night.
At the start of the school year, I purchased composition books for the students and we use them for math and ELA. I want them to be able to make the most of these notebooks by keeping them organized. Materials like tabs and fine tip markers will allow my students to separate each unit within their notebooks and mark vocabulary and examples in colors that will stand out. All of these resources will assist my students in getting the most out of their educational experiences.
