Kindergarten is a time of transition and growth. Along with busy minds, students also have busy bodies that need to move in order to stimulate the brain. Each day we work on life skills and expand learning through hands-on activities and applied learning projects.
My community of scholars works together to create lasting learning and fun memories.
In the classroom it is important to give students opportunities to discover how they learn best and have materials and settings for all students to be successful.
My Project
Breakout EDU brings the excitement and thrill of an escape room into the classroom as a way to review academic skills and work on collaborative teams to creatively solve problems. These kits will help students to apply their learning in a new fun way!
Working in collaborative teams kindergarteners and their 5th grade buddies would be able to support each other in applied learning activities.
Buddy time with 5th graders is the highlight of our week in kindergarten, and students would be able to work together in teams to complete challenges and support learning. With these breakout kits, we would be able to review math and literacy skills, while also working on teamwork, collaboration, and social emotional skills. Fifth graders would also have the opportunity to create special games for their kindergarten buddies and help them to complete their challenges.
With these materials, we would be able to engage in applying skills and knowledge in an enjoyable and exciting way.
