All of our lives have been changed during this time. My students come from families that are facing many changes, some caregivers are suddenly home without work, others are able to work from home, while others are going to work. We received the news of school closures on a Sunday. No one had time to get what they needed from the classroom or to say goodbye. Students have expressed a gauntlet of emotions as we've been going through this quarantine.
My Project
Donating to this project will allow several students to get materials they need in order to comfortably learn from home. None of us knew that the last day of school was going to be the last day. Several students have already asked if they can get the items they left behind. We are not able to go back into the building to get the things left behind yet.
Please help get students what they need so they can continue learning from home.
I've included basic items, pencils and erasers so that students can continue working. Even during the best of times it can be hard to find a good pencil to complete homework. This is not the best of times. Students need items not only to complete work, but also to be able to be a little bit creative. In order to help boost creativity I've included in the list of items are pens, colored pencils, crayons and sticky notes. In the classroom we use sticky notes often, I hope students will use the notes as part of their learning, but I also envision that they'll be making small comics or picture books with the note pads.
