This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing, sixth graders who are excited about school and learning. I teach fifty students ELA and Social Studies and they enjoy learning and participating in school. My school is located in Opelousas, Louisiana and many of my students are at-risk. The parents and guardians of my students are highly supportive and want the best education for their child. Having such supportive parents has made teaching a partnership with them and has made teaching the students more meaningful.
My Project
Erasable boards and markers make the students more engaged and make learning interactive. My students love to read aloud and participate. Having these boards and markers will allow them to all instantly be able to answer questions. Instead of only one student being able to answer at a time, all of the students will have the opportunity to answer.
It is very important to me that my students all feel important and that they know that they each play an important role in our classroom family.
I want them all to be able to participate and know that their input makes a difference and is meaningful.
