Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Students learn in different ways. With the technology that is available to students today, many students prefer to use technology. When teaching lessons, I always try to have students participate in active learning by using Chromebooks to follow along with the lesson. This allows for students to try the skills that I am demonstrating and participate in the lesson through questions, polls, and discussion that can be posted on a digital discussion board. This allows for all students' voices to be heard. This cannot be done in my library on desktop computers. Having a classroom set of Chromebooks would make this possible.

Some of our students have personal devices to follow along with, but most of our students do not.

Our student population has not had the access to technology that most students have. I am working to change that. I have managed to bring extra Chromebooks from my home and from others' donations. I am close to having a class set, and your donation would complete my goal.

I want our students to be extremely familiar with all of the different technologies available to them. This will certainly help in their future, no matter what path they take after they graduate. Having successful students means our world will be a better place. And this is the ultimate goal for all teachers.
