Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are mostly English Language Learners (ELLs) in Baltimore City. With this coronavirus keeping everyone from school instruction, the majority of our students do not have laptops or tablets at home to continue their education like most of our surrounding areas.

My students are mostly immigrant families.

Education is a priority to these families and like most during this time, they are lost without school. We want to provide as much instruction as possible.

Our local cable companies are offering free internet services, but they do not have devices to get online even if the service is free of charge.

My Project

Since we are doing distance learning, I have 20 tablets for my students, but need cases to protect them. This was they can be used for every year. My students are so excited to have this new technology. The programs we use are for for ALL students in English and Spanish. They do not have the devices yet because they are being delivered next week.

Once I get the devices, they will be distributed.

My families are very excited that we are able to help those who need it to keep pace with everyone else.
