My Students
My school is a small, rural K-5 elementary located in the Pacific Northwest. My school serves a special population of learners coming from diverse backgrounds. One third of my students are learning English as a second language.
My students are bright, energetic and eager to learn about the world around them.
They daily strive to uphold our classroom and school expectations: Be Respectful, Make Good Choices, and Problem Solve. They are hard working and strive to reach their learning goals. They love when they get to use technology! We utilize the available resources to the best extent possible to maximize on learning.
My Project
Currently, my students share 1 set of laptops with all of the third and fourth grade classes, leaving us with only a few laptops to use during our math and reading workshop time. My biggest math and reading groups have 6 students.
These Chromebooks will ensure ALL students have access to technology everyday.
Even my largest math and reading groups will now have the ability to utilize online resources supporting the curriculum. We will also be able to use the devices collaboratively in our table groups. Using web-based resources such as Kahoots, we can now review material in a game-like format which will provide feedback to me as well as promote communication between students.
These computers will provide equitable technology use in our classroom!
