Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students work towards mastering not only their high school diploma, but college course credit as well! Our students have traveled around the globe including Egypt, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Slovenia, Belize, Italy, and Spain. On average, our seniors graduate with 30 hours of college credit.
Our campus is a phenomenal international studies community.
All of our students are engaged in working with community partners, studying abroad to expand their global perspective and challenging themselves with college-level course work. The teachers in our learning community are extremely passionate about preparing our students to become productive citizens of our global community by encouraging them to become lifelong learners and take action about global issues that concern them. The school community supports our students and campus unconditionally, and we want to continue encouraging our students to grow.
My Project
Our in person and virtual students are lacking an ability to connect with each other.
I am hoping to replace our outdated and dying technology with a TV and conference speaker so that our in person and virtual students can work more collaboratively no matter where they might be learning!
These items will create a more equitable learning environment as students work together to create community projects inspired by our study of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In order to work together and reach our goals, our students need to see and hear each other.
