Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a special education teacher, I have the pleasure of working with resilient children and their families. My students are a reflection of myself, talented, curious and passionate. My classroom is not only a safe place where my students are engaged in their learning but a community in which they are positioned to be successful inside and outside of the classroom. My students will be future engineers, therapists, and leaders in their communities. Because in our classroom they are defined by their brilliance and not their circumstances.

My Project

These laptops will continue to enhance the equitable classroom that I strive to create. These days there are so many new and exciting online programs to help students engage in learning. As a special education teacher, I want to be able to provide different platforms that my students can access. These laptops will be used to access reading and math content such as Zearn, Prodigy, Reading A-Z, and News ELA. These laptops will help enrich my students' learning experience.

With these new laptops, I will be able to differentiate learning for students in reading, math, and writing.

They will be able to access online learning programs, research new and interesting topics, hone their typing skills, and have fun. My students have already shown an astonishing interest in technology, and this project will only help enrich their experiences in the tech world!
