My students love to use their individual interests to fuel experimentation of new ideas in art! From the first day of school, they have been are thrilled to grab a paintbrush and start creating. They are energetic, innovative thinkers who are growing as artists every day.
Our middle school art room is a community where students of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome.
Many of my students see art class as a safe space where they can be themselves. I teach in a rural school district where students have told me they have a hard time gaining access to supplies and creative experiences outside of school. I am excited to bring fun, enriching art projects into the classroom that will build upon my students' creative thinking skills!
My Project
In our middle school art class, 7th and 8th grade students will be learning to mix their own colors to create unique compositions with acrylic paint! Many of my students have not gotten the opportunity to paint on a canvas before. The 9x12 blick canvas panels will give my students a reliable surface to create their painting projects on. Right now, I only have drawing paper and construction paper in my art classroom. It would be a huge blessing to give them a realistic painting experience on a textured surface that was made for acrylic paint!
In order to properly protect artwork while it is drying, our classroom needs a drying rack!
We have been using tables and desks to lay projects out to dry and always seem to run out of space in our little classroom studio space. The drying rack will help our painting projects go smoothly and keep paintings from falling on the floor. Thank you for equipping our artists!
