Mrs. Ruland from Capitol Heights MD is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 12 book bins to help organize our classroom library, 30 privacy partitions for testing, and 5 online education games for reading comprehension.

Imagine your favorite English classroom. What did it look like? Was the room inviting? Were students learning digitally? Were there books of a variety of literary genres? Were they classified by each genre, not just to be organized but to help you and your peers find the most desired books to read?
My stellar students come from low socio-economic homes.
Our school is title 1, with over 78% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. My students have a zest for learning; however, many lack the necessary materials at home to truly grow as learners. That's why I want to ensure that my classroom has all the necessary materials available to every single one of my students.
Reading books is essential in becoming a better reader. I want my students to have a classroom library that is organized by genre, so they may be exposed to as many different types of books as possible. I want my students reading online, practicing how to manipulative the text digitally, especially with PARCC testing assessing this ability. I want my students given the necessary privacy to ensure that they are doing their best on assessments and independent work. All of these materials will help my students become better learners.
Donating to this project will make a huge difference in my classroom.
It will ensure that my classroom is prepped for 21st century literacy learning. It will motivate my students of all differing learning styles and will truly make my classroom the best language arts classroom that it can be!
