Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a potpourri of cultures in a low-income school district. We are a school that is in a high poverty area of Oklahoma City. Despite these supposed setbacks, my athletes compete with all their hearts.
They are resilient competitors!
They have worked so hard and trained so much to be the athletes they are. However, often they do not have the equipment necessary to improve their skills. Providing them with weighted vests will help them become stronger competitors. They surprise us each day with what they can do, so why should they not be provided with the resources to help them be the best athlete they can be?
My Project
Without much complaining or resistance, our athletes work hard each day. By having these weight vests, our athletes can improve their skills. They will be asked to push themselves to their limit to grow stronger and faster. Our athletes are strong competitors but often are not provided with proper equipment because of lack of resources. By funding this project, we will be able to help our athletes be the best soccer players every day. These athletes are multi-sport competitors. The vests will be used for soccer players to gain strength while running.
Our athletes are resilient.
They surprise us each day with what they can do. So, why should they not get the best training they deserve to make them the best athlete they can be?
