Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 6th-8th scholars are a tight knit group in a very small school (K-8), where most have grown up together since Kindergarten. Our school has a great feeling of family. They look out for each other, even at this tough age. They have HEART: they Have a positive attitude, they Expect success, they Accept responsibility, they Respect themselves and others, and they Think before acting.
I am inspired by my scholars each and every day.
They are explorers, inventors, creators, critical thinkers, engineers, and mathematicians.
This particular project will be focused on our Makerspace lunch club and providing more opportunities for the scholars to create, design, and explore with a STEAM focus.
My Project
Activities can be challenging to keep everyone on task and motivated when not everyone can participate. These materials will help keep my scholars engaged and active during P.E. as well as able to participate in math and science calculations.
Middle school P.E.
can be challenging to keep everyone motivated and moving so we try to bring in new games and activities as much as possible. A few scholars have been able to play Slamball and they love it! Velcro ball is also another big hit because we do not currently have baseball equipment and it help them practice their throw, catch, and hand-eye coordination.
