Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the privilege of teaching PE to more than five hundred students from kindergarten all the way to sixth grade. These students are fun, active and eager to learn and participate in all the new things I throw their way. I love seeing these young active students succeed in PE, as I strive to push them in their physical health, sportsmanship and teamwork skills.
I push my students to learn what it means to live a healthy life and be active everyday in order to impact the rest of their life.
All of my students come from various backgrounds and neighborhoods. They have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to PE, but they all are encouraged to do their best no matter what!
My Project
I see every student at my campus every single day for P.E. and we use various equipment during each class. Technology is a huge asset to my class and the new speakers will replace our current ones that are starting to malfunction. The speakers will allow my students to hear videos, music and my voice from the microphone in class everyday. Students are free to be loud during our activities so new speakers will enable my students to better hear me when instructions are needing to be given.
The new equipment and storage will provide opportunity for more participation and organization.
My class sizes are very large with an average of seventy students, so the additional balls and scooters will enable less sharing of equipment and increase participation.
With the amount of equipment we use in my classroom each day, storage is extremely important. Hula hoops are very hard to store and with the new hula hoop storage cart, students will be able to easily put away our hula hoops which will give us more time to be active and less time putting away equipment.
