Equip Our Physical Needs

Help me give my students playground equipment that will encourage their communication skills and core muscles. The seesaw helps students learn to talk to one another and work together. The other items will help build balance and coordination.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Watching my students interact at recess reminds me of how important this time is for them. They need recess time to play together, learn together, work out problems together, and create together.

My kindergarteners this year are in need of social interaction now more than ever!

They have missed out on valuable time to interact due to recent restrictions and are now having to try to learn how to get along with others. Many of my students have never been in a school or daycare setting before this year.

My Project

Playground equipment is needed to help students release some energy. Seesaws are good for team building because students have to work together to get it to go up and down and even balance. Stilts help build core muscles that students need to help with balance and coordination. The skip ball ankle game promotes agility.

Children's bodies are constantly growing and need ways to build strength and coordination.

Providing my students with multiple types of playground equipment is important. Each piece works different parts of their body that in turn strengthens the whole child.
