My Students

We are a Title I (low income) school and our students often lack the resources for enriched learning opportunities. I would like to increase their hands-on, real world experience in my classroom.

These math manipulatives would increase their conceptual understanding for more retentive and self-efficacy characteristic traits.

We will use these manipulatives in multiple lessons which will also allow the students to connect dendrites as they grow connections across multiple curriculum. This will increase their productive citizenship qualities throughout their life.

My Project

My students are in an extremely high poverty area. They do not have money to buy luxury items, like electric pencil sharpeners, dry erase supplies, etc. However, their learning would be enhanced by these time saving materials. Often, we have to use hand held pencil sharpeners (the $1 kind) or exacto blades to get lead to come out of our pencils for class use. Also, our White Boards are so dirty, seeing new material is very difficult. Sometimes, our students ask me to just write on a paper with them around me because they cannot understand what is on the Board.

These simple items will go a long way in my classroom toward increased student comprehension.
