My high school athletes are young ladies who desire to excel and pursue athletic and academic excellence. They are involved in community service, one of which is coaching field hockey at the recreation/youth level. Their involvement in high school sports, increases their self-esteem, teaches them leadership, teamwork, and time management skills. They learn how to cope under pressure and to take responsibility for their actions and performance.
My desire is to develop strong, confident young ladies who will make a difference in their community and become successful at whatever they choose to pursue in life.
I want to give equal opportunity to every young lady to play field hockey and to provide the necessary equipment for the sport and team gear that keeps them safe, warm, and gives them confidence.
My Project
Team soccer socks are similar to field hockey socks which are a required piece of uniform and many can only afford one pair so they wear them for practice and games and rarely wash them. These socks hold their protective shin guards in place while they play.
Equal opportunity team soccer socks will give players an extra pair of socks so I can wash the other pair and they can always have a clean pair.
Athletic funding has been drastically reduced in our public school so the team does some fundraising but I want my athletes to focus on their academics and their game not on raising funds for their team gear.
