Environmentally Friendly Mathematics

My students need individual whiteboards, whiteboard markers, whiteboard cleaner, and multiplication & division flashcards!

My Students

"To believe in a child is to believe in the future. Through their aspirations they will save the world." -Henry James

I have an extremely vibrant, enthusiastic class of fifth graders!

The majority of my students are from military families, so they have quite a bit of worldly experience and always welcome new friends with open arms. Over the course of the year, I have found that this generation of kids are committed to going green, and prefer whiteboards and technology to pencils and paper.

My Project

With the new whiteboards and markers we hope to obtain, the students will be able to work in small groups, practicing math problems, as well as use them to participate in whole group math instruction. Although the focus of this project is on math, the whiteboards will be of great benefit to my students in all subject areas.

Whiteboards will increase the pacing and effectiveness of our math lessons, and the flashcards will help to ensure that the students master their basic multiplication & division facts (0-12) before the end of the year.
