Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in a self-contained, modified curriculum classroom that provides them with many extra accommodations and modifications to ensure they get optimal learning opportunities. Since the COVID-19 quarantine started, I have tried hard to get them everything they need to keep learning online while staying safe.
Social distancing is necessary to stay safe, but my students also need to use engaging resources to help keep them learning from a distance.
Financial literacy is always a super important subject and now more than ever during the pandemic for our low-income families. My students have to battle poverty and the extra complications that their learning disabilities can bring them.
My Project
Financial literacy is always a hard subject to teach and with my SPED students the subject is often even harder, but not impossible.
I think that if I find creative ways or use creative materials then difficult lessons become fun and a bit easier to understand!
With these reusable, environmentally friendly notebooks, financial literacy can be a fun lesson all year long and they can keep using them for years to come! This one project can essentially keep them learning and save them money on notebooks for their entire academic lives and beyond!
