My Students

My Title I school has limited resources on our limited budget. I am the only 7th grade English Language Arts teacher in the school. Learning does not just happen inside four walls of a school.

My project is for an outdoor classroom.

My students have the drive and determination to learn, and this would offer so many opportunities for them to explore science in a more meaningful way. Other subjects could also take use of this inverted classroom space. We are right down the street from the Native American mounds and I would like the students to be given the opportunity to learn outside their walls.

My Project

This project has been on my mind and heart for a while. Our students need the ability to learn beyond our walls. We have a very historic community, with the Native American Mounds right down the street. Therefore, with all that our outdoor and right outside our school has to offer, I want my students to be able to go outside and LEARN!

This project is for the tables to begin our Outdoor Classroom!

It is a project dear to me as an English teacher to be able to show the students the beauty of reading on a pretty Alabama spring day outside, or for our Science teacher to show a butterfly garden up close. History teacher can go outside and being the Gettysburg Address to life. Learning goes beyond our four walls of a school building. Please help us bring that to HCMS.
