My Students
We are a Title 1 school in Flushing, New York! Our students come from diverse backgrounds and create a unique blend typical of a New York City school. This is the first year of our AP Environmental Science program and there are 54 hard working, motivated and talented students.
So many of our students have never traveled outside of New York City, and this camping trip experience will connect them with real AP Environmental topics they learned all year!
They will have an opportunity to discover nature with authentic, hands-on learning while working with park rangers to conduct soil and water chemistry tests, explore the forests through nature hikes, and participate in team-building activities. This might be the first time our students will see a star-filled night sky!
