This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students I have in class have so much to offer. In our small classroom community, the students help each other learn and grow every single day through being helpful towards one another, being brave, trying their best, and setting goals for themselves and others. I remind my kiddos every single day that they can do great things and they truly believe that themselves as well.

I have a classroom of thinkers, builders, artists, authors, and scientists just waiting show show the world what they can do.

My Project

A big part of my teaching philosophy is having an environment where my kids feel supported and safe. A big part of that is giving them the chance to be in a space that they can learn in and feel like they are in charge of that learning.

Students all learn differently and supporting that is a big part of being an educator.

Having flexible seating is a big part of my room and environment because it is a way for students to choose where they want to learn and how they feel comfortable learning. It is important that they feel safe, ready, and responsible--even if that means just picking where they sit.
