Enticing Books For Reluctant Readers

My Project

This year our school has 'genrefied' the library's fiction collection! This means books are shelved with their subgenres, so all fiction books about sports are together, scary books are all together, etc. With this method of shelving books, students are more easily able to find books that appeal to their specific interests, however, the collection gaps are now glaringly obvious!

This project aims to fill genre gaps in our middle school library; mainly by adding sports fiction for our athletes, Spanish for ESL students, graphic novels for reluctant readers, and increasing our diversity collection to better represent our student population.
